The newest flock of Blue Hens gathered at Old College on Monday, Aug. 26 as part of the 1743 Welcome Days. The Class of 2023 – more than 600 strong – donned shirts matching their departments: blue for School of Nursing, green for Medical and Molecular Sciences, red for Behavioral Health and Nutrition and orange for Kinesiology and Applied Physiology.
The blend of t-shirts all representing Health Sciences provided a visual reminder of the critical need for interprofessional education provided with a patient-centered focus – a hallmark of a College of Health Sciences education, Dean Kathleen S. Matt said.
“It’s all of you working together to provide comprehensive care,” she told the students gathered on the steps of Old College. “You represent the future of healthcare, and the future couldn’t look brighter.”
