DELAWARE ONLINE — Newark could become the epicenter of American efforts to mass produce cutting-edge biopharmaceuticals after federal leaders picked the University of Delaware to lead a new $250 million project.

The National Institute for Innovation in Manufacturing Biopharmaceuticals, or NIIMBL, will unite more than 150 universities, private companies and non-profits from across the country.
