A Message From the Dean

Welcome to the College of Health Sciences. Our mission is research, education, and clinical care.  You can find your passion, and discover your future here at UD.

In the College of Health Sciences, our programs include many opportunities for hands-on learning including: study abroad, simulation, healthcare theater, health design, clinical placements, research opportunities, and much more. There is an emphasis on interprofessional training, that gives you experience working with nurses, physical therapists, speech therapists, nutritionists, behaviorists, exercise physiologists, lab scientists, and the list goes on. We also have an exciting Innovative Health Design lab in which you can design solutions to existing health care challenges.

Our programs are on the main campus as well as on our newer STAR campus in which houses research facilities and clinics. Our STAR Campus offers state of the art facilities and the chance to work with faculty who are researching ways to improve the health and quality of life in our community. You also have the unique opportunity to make a difference today by working in one of our clinics that are translating research into clinical care.  In the College of Health Sciences, you’ll become adept at dealing with changing technology, working at the top of your discipline, and being advocates for better healthcare outcomes. You’ll develop skills at being innovative, and collaborative.

You will also have some unique opportunities here in Delaware to work with leaders in our community such Lt. Gov. Bethany Hall-Long, who is part of our nursing faculty, and Rita Landgraf, the former cabinet secretary for the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services who now serves as faculty in our college and as Director of our Partnership for Healthy Communities.

So bring your energy and creativity and join us! Become a part of the future of healthcare. That future starts here at UD!
