Nursing alumni and students gathered at Timothy’s of Newark to paint in honor of UD Nursing’s 50th anniversary. The second annual Nursing Alumni Network paint night was led by Kennett Design. The center of the painting showcases the UD Nursing pin designed in 1960 by Winnie Schmeling and Honey Vickers. Each school of nursing in the United States has its own pin, a unique symbol to its undergraduate baccalaureate program. The pin has a wreath of laurel leaves, symbolizing knowledge around a Maltese cross, denoting goodness. It connects generations of UD Nursing alumni.

The original painting was created by Caitlin Doughterty of Kennett Design.
