The Delaware 87ers today announced a partnership with STAR Health at the University of Delaware that centers on applying performance science practices to Sevens players.

“We are so excited to continue to grow our partnership with a center of innovation that is using cutting-edge performance studies,” said Sevens President Larry Meli. “The services that our players will receive from STAR Health are a valuable piece to our expanding performance science platform.”

“Matching our clinical and research experts with high performing athletes that practice and play games right across the street is a no brainer. It’s a unique arrangement that no other D-League team can take advantage of,” said Michael Smith, director of strategic initiatives for the University of Delaware College of Health Sciences, which launched STAR Health to serve the surrounding community. “This gives our clinicians and researchers a chance to advise elite athletes on everything from nutrition to fitness to the science of their body movement.” Read the full release on
