Chrysler – Community Celebration
October 30, 2015
STAR Health Sciences Complex
540 S. College Avenue, Newark DE
The College of Health Sciences invited former Chrysler workers, families and the greater Newark community to celebrate the past, present and future of the Chrysler Plant/STAR Campus site. The South College site, which houses UD’s Health Sciences Complex, is the former home of the Chrysler plant, whose roots run deep in Newark’s history dating back to tank-building during the Korean War. Workers pointed to the beams, the old signs, the signed hoods (commemorating September 11th), photos and memorabilia from their time at the plant. Some of them even brought their classic cars with them! Read more.
