The College of Health Sciences Spring Diversity and Inclusion Speaker Series will kick off on Wednesday, Feb. 22, at 11 a.m. with a lecture by Stephanie Kerschbaum, associate professor of English, who will discuss “Disability in the Health Sciences.”
Two additional lectures are planned for this semester, including Karla Bell of the Department of Physical Therapy, director of clinical education, and Edith Mitchell, an oncologist from Thomas Jefferson University and blue ribbon panelist from the cancer moonshot project.
On March 15 at 11 a.m., Bell will discuss “Interprofessional Cultural Competency for Improving Health Care Delivery for LGBTQ Patients in Rehab and Nursing.”
The series will conclude on April 26 at 5 p.m. when Mitchell will lecture on “The Cancer Moonshot: Perspectives from a Blue Ribbon Panelist.”
All presentations will take place in the atrium of the STAR Health Sciences Complex.
